The Gaston Early College High School continues its commitment to high academic achievement. Once again, our school achieved an A school performance grade from the state. We are tied for second for having the highest student proficiency rate in all of Gaston County, and we exceeded our academic growth expectations. We also have a 100 percent graduation rate!

The Early College is an innovative magnet school partnership with Gaston College. Students have an opportunity to earn a high school diploma at no cost, two years of 100% transferable college credit in the form of an associate in arts, associate in science, and/or associate in engineering degree.

First day of school for fall semester is August 11th. We look forward to seeing you then!

Chick-fil-A Night at Gastonia Chick-fil-A is on June 9th. Code GECHS26 - Gaston Early College High School will get a percentage of the purchases made using the code that evening.

Incoming Freshmen and (new) Sophomores are welcome to attend Spartan Island. Icebreakers and Activities are designed to ensure our students know some people on the first day of school to smooth the transition into high school. Dr. Cook is sending information to the student's via e-mail. Registration is needed for sizing and food preparation.

We are looking for sponsors who can help in funding for first day of school popsicles, leadership luncheons (1 per grade level), travel expenses for community service and college visits, and end of year celebration. The Board of Education will meet on Monday, June 15, at 5:30 p.m. at the Gaston County Schools Central Office, 943 Osceola Street, Gastonia. The public is invited to attend.
